I am a Teacher and a Designer
I’m Patricia Konadu Mensah, and I’m from Ghana. I’m currently pursuing my M.A. in Technical Communication at Texas Tech University, where my work focuses on user experience, instructional design, and accessible communication. I’m passionate about helping people navigate digital information and interfaces with ease and clarity.
Who i am
I hold a B.A. in Communication Studies from the Ghana Institute of Journalism, where I majored in Journalism and minored in Public Relations. After graduation, I worked as a Public Relations Officer at the CSIR–Crops Research Institute in Ghana.
There, I developed communication strategies that translated complex scientific research into conversations local communities could understand. I also gained experience as a technical writer and content creator, developing instructional materials and articles for digital and print platforms.
At Texas Tech, I serve as a Graduate Part-Time Instructor in the English Department, teaching ENGL 1301 and 1302. I guide students in academic writing, research, and multimodal composition.
Teaching is one of my greatest joys. I see every classroom as a design space that evolves with students’ needs and encourages curiosity, reflection, and voice.
I’ve presented research at conferences such as SIGDOC, CPTSC, and the UW–Madison RSA Symposium, focusing primarily on accessibility, empathy-driven UX design, and environmental rhetoric.
My working philosophy always puts users first. So, whether I’m developing an instructional guide, conducting usability research, or mentoring students, I design for understanding, inclusion, and empathy.

Outside of work, I enjoy watching anime and spending time with family and friends. These moments keep me grounded and remind me that good design, like good teaching, always begins with people.
